This lid portrays Qebehsenuef, one of the four funerary deities known as the Sons of Horus. With his falcon head, Qebehsenuef was responsible for protecting the intestines of the deceased, kept inside the jar. The tripartite wig, curved beak, and white-painted surface highlight its symbolic and ritual features.

This 3D model was created in collaboration with the Museo Egizio in Turin with the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze.
